2012 Olympic Games Logo. I have a particular dislike for this logo as i believe it is clumsy and i do not think that the design has represented the tradition of the Olympic Games. Its designers describe it as simple, bold and buzzing with energy. Sorry guys i do not agree.
I like this logo that represents radioactivity. It makes me feel wary and uneasy about going any nearer suggests that i should keep well clear and i do not need to know why.
Lion Gate's Saw and Silent Hill posters. This is typography skillfully manipulated in what i consider to be a masterful way. It touches your soul i cannot expect any more than that from a poster.
Swastika emblem. This is one of the most powerful logos in modern history one that the whole world recognizes and fears. Its history is more seductive stretching back as far as 3000 years representing many civilizations as the symbol of life, sun, power strength and good luck.
Aviva. I dislike this logo as is does not even sound like an insurance company! Aviva Las Vegas what was wrong with good old Norwich Union so recognizable and distinctive. This in my opinion is to radical.
C&A logo. This shop was there to destroy your ego. You would try not to upset your parents when passing it in fear that they may drag you in there. I cringe even today when i come across this logo.
The Cadbury Gorilla advert is my favourite tv advertisement. It appeals to all ages is fun and we all get it. The suspense of the delay is used as a clever device as well as the music. Most importantly you associate it and Cadburys milk chocolate like a good marriage.
Iceland adverts. A particular dislike of mine are the Iceland series of advertisements. I never remember the products avertised just the cheesy has been celebrity desperate to earn some money
Sinclair C5. This style of advertising was a huge adversary in the demise of this product. Ok poor product but what were thedesigners thinking about.
Ikea typeface. For 60 years Ikea has been the flag ship of Swedish success. Futura is its chosen typeface and as recognizable as the yellow and blue. It surprises me that it has made the decision to discard Futura for its 2010 catalogue and instead chosen the web friendly Verdana. This could easily lead to the loss of its identity, careful Ikea!
